It was originally named for the abundance of the trees with this name. ==History== After the first quarter of the 19th century, Sietecueros neighbors make a petition to the supreme government of Costa Rica, (Braulio Carrillo Colina was the then president), which was to segregate them from the town of Santa Cruz and add them to Guanacaste City, in civil and ecclesiastical aspects. To which took into account the proximity and close relationship with Guanacaste City.
